Yummy durian desserts

Durian has been called 'King of fruits'. The cream colored flesh with the pungent and penetrating aroma and its unique taste evoke from deep appreciation to intense disgust.

Durian has been used to flavour many types of food, such as ice kacang, ice cream, cakes, sweet desserts and lately in the trend (and expensive too), the mooncakes.

Lately, I have tasted durian desserts from 2 places that are worth the mention :-

1. Durian pancakes - Lai Ching Yuen, Grand Millenium KL (ala carte order)
2. Durian cheesecakes - Mandarin Oriental (part of the buffet counter and it is seasonal)

The list may go on as I will make some trips to venture more durian desserts. So stay tuned ...

Wrapped in soft, fluffy crepes, the generous portion of durian flesh with whipped cream is fantastically divine. The pancakes are served chilled and they make great desserts for after meal session. Not-to-be-missed when you pay your visit here at Grand Millenium.

Durian Cheesecake @ Mandarin Oriental

Cheese and durian are an excellent pairing. In Mandarin Oriental, only the top-notch durian quality is used. I had this during one of my buffet experiences and I will never forget the creamy cheesy durian taste as it is one of the best I encountered.
